Orada Tech Repair is a busy repair shop on Bethany Road in Hazlet, NJ. We fix laptops, tablets, phones and game consoles. Most of the work is bench repair, done by hand and in volume, and we're bringing on another independent repair technician to keep up with it.

This is a 1099 independent-contractor role, paid per repair rather than by the hour. You choose your days and hours within shop hours (Monday–Saturday 10 AM–7 PM, Sunday 12–5 PM). The more good repairs you finish, the more you make.

What you will be doing

• Repair laptops: screens, keyboards and palmrests, batteries, charge ports, hinges and motherboards
• Diagnose what's actually wrong before anything gets opened up
• Do board-level and micro-solder repairs, which pay more
• Quality-check every device before it leaves your bench
• Log each repair (device, serial number, parts used) in our repair system, which takes a minute on a phone or tablet
• Take phone, tablet and console repairs as they come in

What we are looking for

• Hands-on laptop repair experience, from a repair shop, a refurb or IT job, or serious self-taught work
• Care and consistency: you'd rather double-check than send a device out wrong
• Comfort with small screws, ribbon cables, clips and adhesive
• A steady pace on repeat work without cutting corners
• Reliability: when you say you'll be in, you're in

Nice to have

• Micro-soldering or board-level experience
• Phone repair (iPhone and Samsung screens, batteries, charge ports)
• CompTIA A+ or a similar certification

Schedule & pay

• $10 per completed repair
• $15 per board-level (solder) repair
• Our techs average 2 to 2.5 repairs an hour (about $20–$25 an hour). At our target pace of 3 an hour, that's $30 or more an hour.
• If a repair comes back for the same problem within 30 days, it's redone at no pay, so careful work pays

What we offer

• Pay per repair: your speed and your quality set your earnings
• A flexible schedule within shop hours
• A steady flow of work at the bench, with parts provided
• Training on our process and the models we see most
